Coolmore Purchase $1.5Million Not a Single Doubt Colt

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 15

Colts by Arrowfield Stud’s now pensioned Not a Single Doubt have been in hot demand at Magic Millions this week and he posted his fourth seven figure colt at this sale on Friday when Sledmere Stud’s colt from Soleil Brulant fetched $1.5million.

$1.5million Not a Single Doubt colt from Soleil Brulant.

The three previous million dollar colts by Not a Single Doubt were all bought by Tony Fung Investments/ Phoenix Thoroughbreds, but this one went to Coolmore Australia.

Bred by Rifa Mustang, he is the first foal of unraced I Am Invincible mare Soleil Brulant that was bought as a yearling by Rifa Mustang at the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $180,000 from the Yarraman draft.

As disappointing as it must have been for Rifa Mustang not to see her race, Soleil Brulant was gaining value in the paddock all the time as her pedigree improved out of sight as the years went by.

Soleil Brulant is a half-sister to stakes-winner Harlem River and a grand-daughter of Steam Heat and if that sounds familiar it’s because Steam Heat is also the grand-dam of dual Group I winner and $3.7million earner In Her Time and Everest hero Yes Yes Yes, who have propelled this family into the stratosphere in the last few years.

Interestingly, Soleil Brulant was covered by Yes Yes Yes at Coolmore last spring so that’s a foal we’re all going to want to see later this year!

Soleil Brulant is from the family of Yes Yes Yes and was one of 204 mares covered by the Everest winner last spring.
