Newcastle Gold Cup day fields online

Clinton Payne - Wednesday September 13

The Newcastle Jockey Club's biggest raceday of the year is on Friday where four stakes races will be contested and Racenet has the fields and form online.

The $175,000 Group III XXXX Gold Newcastle Gold Cup (2300m) is the main event and a field of nine will line up in the race won six years ago by 2012 Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon.

The $150,000 Group III Australian Bloodstock Cameron Handicap (1500m) is always a strongly-contested race and this year's renewal will have nine runners, including the likes of Sound Proposition, Spectroscope, The Virginian and exciting prospect Special Missile.

The other black type contests on the card are the $150,000 Group III NBN News NJC 3YO Spring Stakes (1600m) and the $150,000 Group III Yarraman Park Tibbie Stakes (1400m).

Friday's eight-race program starts at 12.50pm (AEDT). The track was rated a good (4) at acceptance time while the rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit.

The Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Newcastle for the rest of the week is:
