17th Winner for Capitalist

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 6

Capitalist added a 17th winner to his tally on Saturday when the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly Satin Ribbons scored a tough win at Newcastle in the 900m maiden.

Second on debut last month, she was tenacious to the line in winning by a short half head over blue-blooded Not a Single Doubt filly Ultra, who is a full sister to Group I winner and now Group I sire Extreme Choice.

A homebred for Mrs Belinda Bateman, Satin Ribbons is a half-sister to Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes winner Satin Slipper from Group II winner Satin Shoes, a daughter of Group I winner Star Satire.

Capitalist is enjoying a phenomenal first season with his 17 winners including 11 stakes horses highlighted by four stakes-winners headed by Group I ATC Champagne Stakes winner Captivant.

Capitalist

Capitalist stands this spring at a fee of $99,000.
