Entries Open for NZB Ready to Run

Media Release - Friday July 9

Entries for the number one sale of its kind, New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2021 Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds are now open, with the Sale taking place at the Karaka Sales Centre on 17 and 18 November. Breeze Ups will be held on 11 and 12 October at Te Rapa racecourse.

Known as the leading horses in training sale globally, NZB’s Ready to Run Sale has built a reputation for integrity and success making it the preferred auction for buyers to secure Australasia’s top level juveniles.

NZB's Ready to Run Sale is known as the best horses in training sale globally.

In six seasons, NZB's Ready to Run graduates have claimed 20 Group One titles, compared with just five Group Ones wins for both Australian two-year-old sales combined and 11 Group Ones wins for all combined Northern Hemisphere Breeze Up graduates.

The 2020 edition saw the debut of NZB’s online bidding technology which was responsible for 31% of the total turnover, as well as the majority of key sale indicators increase despite no international buyers on the ground. This cemented their position as market leaders in Breeze Up sales.

  • The 2020 Sale saw an increase in average, median and clearance rate despite no internationals on the ground
  • The highest priced two-year-old sold in Australasia each year has been purchased at Karaka for the last three consecutive years, with a record $700,000 top price in 2020
  • The extra media, reports, parade and Breeze Up videos provided by consignors and NZB made the 2020 Sale the most informative sale ever held by NZB

NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook is enthused about the upcoming Sale.

“We recognise the success that our graduates have had in key markets and continue to work tirelessly to promote the sale in these areas, while also working on developing markets.”

“Globally, we have seen buoyancy across the entire industry, including the demand for horses in training, with sales continuing to operate resiliently throughout the pandemic.

“We are very much looking forward to the prospect of selling another outstanding catalogue of juveniles to all markets this November,” he said.
