Media Release - Thursday January 22

A world-class catalogue of 472 lots has been confirmed for what is shaping as a spectacular Easter Yearling Sale, for which the catalogue is now available online.

In a stunning collection of some of the world’s most desirable bloodlines, the Easter catalogue features 80 lots that are the progeny of or siblings to G1 winners and 259 which are the progeny of or siblings to Stakes winners.

The sale will be held at Riverside Stables in Sydney on March 29 and 30.

All eyes will be on the Snitzel colt from Winx pictured last year.

The catalogue is headlined by the Snitzel son of Winx, a colt that will attract interest from around the bloodstock globe, like his Pierro sister did two years ago before selling for a world record filly price of $10m.

Setting up what promises to be an extraordinary 48 hours of yearling sale theatre, this year’s Easter catalogue also features:

*Siblings to 32 G1 winners such as Switzerland, Zougotcha, Sunshine In Paris, Private Eye, Golden Sixty, Magic Time, Hitotsu, Fireburn, Estijaab, Celestial Legend, Schwarz, Transatlantic, Captivant, Trapeze Artist, Cool Archie, Durezza, Private Life, September Run, Invincibella etc

*Progeny of star racecourse performers including 51 G1 winners such as Annavisto, Azkadellia, Bonham, Dixie Blossoms, English, Forbidden Love, Icebath, In Her Time, Lighthouse, Melody Belle, Mizzy, Montefilia, Never Been Kissed, Nimalee, Personal, Pippie, Response, Savvy Coup, September Run, Sheeza Belter, Shoals, Sierra Sue, Sunlight, Travelling Light, Viddora, Volpe Veloce, Yearning etc

*Progeny of 64 individual stallions headed by Snitzel (43 entries), I Am Invincible (41) and Zoustar (35).

The late champion Snitzel is the most represented sire.

There are offspring of other popular stallions including Extreme Choice, Too Darn Hot, Ole Kirk, Wootton Bassett, Home Affairs, Stay Inside, Super Seth, The Autumn Sun, Harry Angel, Per Incanto, Street Boss, Written Tycoon, Toronado, Exceed And Excel, Dundeel, Maurice, Justify, Alabama Express, Castelvecchio, Hellbent, Savabeel, Proisir, Pinatubo, Starspangledbanner etc as well as international sires Frankel, Baaeed, Gun Runner, Kingman, Lope de Vega, New Bay and Siyouni etc.

There are 46 individual consignors represented in the sale, led by Arrowfield Stud with 65 entries ahead of Yulong (43), Coolmore (37), Widden (28), Sledmere (27) and Newgate (24).

Of the 472 lots catalogued, a majority are BOBS, VOBIS Silver, QTIS, Racing Rewards SA or Westspeed qualified or eligible.

Long known as the Best of the Best, Easter is the most important yearling sale in the Southern Hemisphere, a message Inglis CEO Sebastian Hutch wanted to highlight.

“We are incredibly grateful that year after year, Australia and New Zealand’s best breeders save their best stock for Easter and 2026 is no exception,’’ Hutch said.

“The demand for places in the sale was overwhelmingly strong and we could have catalogued significantly more yearlings than what we have, but we were determined to try and manage the numbers carefully and I’m pleased with where we have settled.

“This year’s catalogue has a depth of quality that is unprecedented in recent years and that’s saying something, given the incredible reputation of the sale with recent graduates like Autumn Glow, Switzerland, Joliestar, Cap Ferrat, Lady Shenandoah, Transatlantic, Zougotcha, Overpass, Home Affairs, Climbing Star, She’s Extreme, Autumn Angel, Growing Empire, Napoleonic, Caballus, Femminile, Getta Good Feeling, Estriella, My Gladiola etc.

“It’s also important to note that at the 2025 renewal of Easter, 104 yearlings could have been bought for $200,000 or less, highlighting the value on offer at Easter.

“Easter produces colts that become stallions, outstanding fillies that can create a breeding dynasty and is the sale that consistently produces the most high-class 2YOs as a percentage of lots offered.

“Easter also possesses the highest Stakes winners/runners ratio of any Australasian yearling sale and buyers are 31% more likely to find a Group winner at Easter than the Magic Millions January Sale.

“The group of fillies assembled for the sale is arguably stronger than at any time in recent history and it’s worth bearing in mind that the dams of each of the past three winners of the G1 Golden Slipper were sourced as yearlings at Easter.

“The opportunity to offer the Snitzel son of 25-time G1-winning champion mare Winx this year is a tremendous privilege and we are very much looking forward to it being another memorable experience.’’

All yearlings purchased at the Easter Sale have the opportunity to nominate for the lucrative Inglis Race Series which includes the $2m Inglis Millennium, the $1m Inglis Pink Bonus - the most lucrative incentive scheme for female racehorse ownership in the world - and the $5m Inglis Xtra Bonus, which sees 50 $100,000 bonus payments annually attached to allocated maidens around Australia.

Hard copies of the Easter catalogue will be available within a fortnight.
