Mission Possible – Two More Trial Winners for The Mission

Breednet - Tuesday September 14

Excitement is building at Camp Aquis following the 2YO heats at Doomben on Tuesday morning – the third lot of juvenile trials in Queensland this season.

Aquis Farm’s first season sire, Spieth, got off to a literal flyer at the Gold Coast last week when three of his youngsters ran 1st, 2nd and 4th in the opening heat, while his ‘freshman’ mate, The Mission, repeated the dose at Deagon the following day: likewise notching up a heat winner, alongside other promising triallists.

The hit outs at Deagon were one thing but the trip to town proved to be a real eye opener when, firstly, Mishani Warfare won his trial (after a 2nd at Deagon), while Mishani Embrace absolutely dominated her rivals – winning the heat by 5 lengths in the fastest last 600m of the 2YO trials.

Mishani Warfare is from unraced Denman mare Mishani Harmony from the family of stakes-winner Illuminates, Hursely and Ichiban.

Mishani Embrace is a half-sister to smart metro winner Mishani Enchanted from winning Show a Heart mare Fallen For You.

Although The Mission didn’t have any runners at the Gold Coast, he’s fronted up with three trial winners in a week.

“Both Mishani Embrace and Mishani Warfare are trained by Les Ross on behalf of breeder Mike Crooks from Mishani Racing,” Aquis Director of Sales, Jonathan Davies, enthused.

“There’s no such thing as an overnight success in racing and years of hard work go into our stallions, but Mishani has had a lot of faith in this horse. They are sending 16 mares to him this season and any rewards they get are thoroughly deserved.

“We’ve always had a big opinion of The Mission – he was a Group 1 winning 2YO himself who finished just 2 lengths off the pace in the WFA TJ Smith at three – and to see his youngsters showing up this early is not really a surprise!”

The Mission is a Premium stallion, click for more information.
