Pedigree Potential – Ready to Run

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 26

Tavistock has unleashed a tidal wave of fresh new talented offspring in Australia this spring with five stakes-winners here since August 1 in Victoria Derby contenders Gunstock and Tutukaka, exciting mares Lucky Mascot and Entriviere as well as Melbourne Cup runner Tralee Rose, who scored a bold win in the Group III Geelong Cup.

At the end of 2019, Cambridge Stud tragically lost the Group I winning son of Montjeu, who was super popular at the time of his death.

There are limited opportunities remaining to buy a Tavistock.

Tavistock sired over 100 winners in Australia last season including 10 stakes-winners headed by Group I Victoria Derby winner Johnny Get Angry and this season is shaping as being even better!

Injured in his last season at stud, Tavistock has a significantly smaller crop of yearlings headed to Karaka for 2022, which puts the spotlight firmly on his two year-olds to be offered at the NZB Ready to Run Sale in November.

There are four two year-olds by Tavistock to be offered after withdrawals as listed below:

Lot 155 Tavistock filly from Kachina.

Lot 155 from KB Bloodstock a filly bred on the great Tavistock x Zabeel cross and is from Kachina, a half-sister to Hong Kong Derby winner Super Satin.

Lot 267 from Curraghmore is another filly bred the same way, this one from stakes-winning Zabeel mare Ritzy Lady, the dam of three winners including Group III place Le Societe.

Lot 306 from Regal Farm is the half-brother to four winners and is from unraced Tale of the Cat (USA) mare Smoothing, a daughter of Zabeel mare Satin ‘n’ Silk, a full sister to Group III winner Sybeel and SW Chamoix.

Lot 322 from Kilgravin Lodge is the half-brother to stakes-winners Windborne and Darci’s Dream being from good producer Sweet Dreams Baby, who has had six winners from six to race!

NZB’s 2021 Ready to Run Sale will now be hosted virtually at Te Rapa Racecourse on 17 and 18 November, commencing at 1PM (NZT). View more information here.
