The Kelly family purchased Newhaven Park at Boorowa in the 1920’s and in the 100 years since then four generations of Kelly’s have established an enviable tradition for producing elite thoroughbreds with current results rivalling the glory days that produced Golden Slipper winners such as John’s Hope, Vivarchi, Burst and Prowl.

The Newhaven Park brand is one that has successfully bridged the past with the future to deliver a stream of outstanding racehorses highlighted by current star graduate In The Congo, who downed Anamoe to win the Group I ATC Golden Rose during the spring.

The flashy Snitzel colt was a $350,000 yearling purchase for China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock that has stamped himself as an elite sire prospect for the future with his earnings topping $800,000.

In The Congo is now a member of the elite Group 1 team that have come from the paddocks at Newhaven Park in recent times joining the likes of English, Shout The Bar, Prompt Response and Odeum, who was a $420,000 Magic Millions purchase for Sheamus Mills Bloodstock.

Newhaven Park sold Aim won the 2021 $2million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

Other Group and stakes-winners consigned / sold or raised at Newhaven Park in 2021 include Kissonallforcheeks, The Inferno, Yao Dash, Lunar Impact, He’s Xceptional and Aim, who won the $2million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas last year and was purchased by China Horse Club/ Newgate for $200,000.

One of only three colts in the sale by champion sire Savabeel and is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group I placed juvenile Group II winner Gold Fever. He is the third foal from juvenile Group II winner Gold Rush, a half-sister to juvenile SW Calaverite, winner of the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes.
