Opportunity Abounds - Inglis HTBA May to Showcase Ambergate Farm

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Thursday April 28

Kevin Drew and his team have been busy preparing 10 quality youngsters for the Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale at Riverside Stables on Sunday and they are ready for inspection in Stable F.

Ambergate consigned Group I ATC Epsom Handicap winner and $1.5million earner Private Eye to Magic Millions Adelaide back in 2019 where he was snapped up by Proven Thoroughbreds for $62,500, so Kevin Drew knows what a good horse looks like.

He offers his thoughts on the yearlings below which include a filly by Rubick that appeals as an ideal syndicator’s horse, while a colt by Fiorente (IRE) offeres country cups potential..

Lot 9 Filly Santos x Ad Lib, by Authorized (IRE)

Dam has had three foals to race for two winners and a place-getter with this lovely filly her fourth foal. From an unraced half-sister to Group II winner Deferential and stakes-winner Eusebio.

Santos is a first season sire doing well within the sales circuit. This filly walks well with forward movement, nice clean type and pride in her step.

Lot 18 Filly Press Statement x Aspen Lass, by More than Ready (USA)

Second foal of an unraced daughter of champion sire More Than Ready (USA) from an international family that includes juvenile Group I winners Brave Anna and Hit it a Bomb.

3/4 sister-in-blood to Light Press (3f Press Statement x Touchy Greeley), who has shown good ability for the Ron Quinton stable with a fourth and a second at Newcastle and Wyong in March and April. You are sure to find this filly racing down the track with her great body type and stride.

Lot 58 Filly Epaulette x Dee You See Kay, by Pluck (USA)

Second foal of two time winning sister to stakes-placed Lady Pluck from the family of brilliant Group II winning sprinter Zariz.

Epaulette is the sire of 2022 Blue Diamond winner Daumier. This filly with great forward motion and has the want to work. Nice and tidy type with the forward stride to match.

Lot 68 Filly Rubick x Doctrine, by Artie Schiller (USA)

By the sire of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes and million dollar earning filly Rubisaki, this filly is a half-sister to two good winners and is from an unraced half-sister to $1.5million earning Group II winner Rain Affair.

Our pick of the draft, nice flowing movements with a great temperament and is ready to work. Hot off Rubick adding another new stakes winner to his tally over the weekend in Rubiquitous.

Lot 193 Filly Super One x One Mississippi, by Starspangledbanner

Half-sister to a winner and is second foal of a placed daughter of champion sprinter and G1 sire Starspangledbanner from a North American Black Type family.

Lovely big filly, great bone and strong body type. This filly by Super One, the sire of country championship winner Another One, trained by Gary Colvin.

Lot 241 Colt Fiorente (IRE) x Something Shocking, by Nicconi

First foal of a winning half-sister to stakes-placed Kaypers, a winner of over $444,000 in prizemoney, and comes from the family of Group I Australian Oaks winner Kenbelle, the dam of five time Group I winner and $2.8million earner Boban.

Having a fantastic Vobis Gold sale, Fiorente is a brilliant sire for our country cup trainers. This colt combines the best of both sides of his family and has the potential to be the next country cup winner.
