Pedigree Watch – Ireland, UK – Guineas Treble for Godolphin

Godolphin pulled off a unique achievement at The Curragh overnight winning the Group I Irish 2,000 Guineas (1m) with Native Trail, his victory following on from their previous wins this year in the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas with Coroebus (Dubawi) and the French 2,000 Guineas with Modern Games (Dubawi).

The Champion 2YO Colt last season, the Charlie Appleby trained son of Oasis Dream won the Group III Craven Stakes when resuming this year and then was second to Coroebus in the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas.

Ridden by William Buick, he scored an easy length and three-quarter win and has the mimpressive record of six wins from seven starts.
 



Bought for 210,000 guineas from the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale last year by Godolphin, Native Trail I sone of 18 Group I winners by Oasis Dream, who at age 22 is still on the Banstead Manor roster at a fee of 20,000 pounds.



The Queen may have a runner at Royal Ascot in the Group I King’s Stand Stakes with her progressive sprinter King’s Lynn winning the Group II Temple Stakes (5f) at Haydock.

A two time Listed winner trained by Andrew Balding, the 5YO Cable Bay gelding scored a  career best head win in the sprint and holds an entry for Royal Ascot.
 



King’s Lynn is a full brother to Group III winner Collinsbay and is one of seven stakes-winner for Cable Bay, who shuttled to Australia for four seasons with his oldest progeny 3YO’s.



The Group III Marble Hill Stakes (6f) at The Curragh was won by unbeaten 2YO colt Blackbeard, a son of No Nay Never, who also had an impressive 2YO winner at Rosehill on Saturday in Madame Pommery.

Trained by Aidan O’Brien for the Coolmore partners, Blackbeard made it three wins in as many starts when winning easily by three and a half lengths.
 



Bought for 270,000 guineas at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale in 2020, Blackbeard is the 38th stakes-winner for Scat Daddy’s Group I winning son No Nay Never.



Blackbeard is under consideration for Royal Ascot and is the first winner from a winning daughter of Group III winner Girouette.
