Valiant Stud Hidden Gems at MM National Yearling Sale

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Sunday May 29

If there is one thing we learned from last week’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale it’s that million dollar mares can be bought astutely as yearlings with mares like Rubisaki and Ballistic Lover highlighting the value to be found in lesser sales.

Rubick’s Group II winner Rubisaki was plucked by Joe O’Neill’s Prime Thoroughbreds for just $85,000 from the Book 2 section of Inglis Classic and was sold last week for $1million off the track, while Ballistic Lover achieved similar success for Tricolours Racing and Syndication.

The daughter of smart Missile was bought for $80,000 from the Book 2 session of Magic Millions and she too made $1million offered straight off the track.

“The less obvious yearling fillies are often overlooked at sales, when all it takes is a nice racing career and they can be the best value for money horses out there,” pointed out Fergal Connolly of Valiant Stud.

The Magic Millions National Yearling Sale this week represents the last chance to buy a Magic Millions eligible yearling this year and for those who may have missed out at previous sales, now is the time to make a move.

Valiant Stud will present a draft of 12 youngsters that are now available for inspection at the Gold Coast with highlights below:

Lot 1428 Filly Showtime x Saldana, by Lonhro

From the first crop of Snitzel’s fast Group II winning son Showtime. Second foal of a daughter of brilliant 2YO Superfly, winner of the Listed ATC Widden Stakes and this filly looks an early type as pedigree suggests.
