Another Winner for Jukebox

Mark Smith - Friday July 1

Showing the experience earned from three previous starts, the Justin Bowen-trained Play My Song overpowered the favourite Secret Revolution in a hotly contested 1000m 2yo handicap at Muswellbrook on Friday to credit Jukebox with his fifth winner and fourth in Australia.

Ridden by Mikayla Weir, Play My Song left her 13 opponents without an excuse.

Never closer four and five wide the trip, Play My Song blew past the Randwick-placed Russian Revolution gelding Secret Revolution by a widening one and a half lengths with the Adelaide (IRE) gelding Ollie's Secret a further one and a quarter length back in third.

Consigned by Riversdale to the 2021 Inglis HTBA May Yearling Sale, Play My Song left the ring unsold when failing to find a buyer willing to meet her $20,000 reserve.

Play My Song failed to make her $20,000 reserve at Inglis HTBE yearling sale

She is the first foal of the twice-winning Strada mare Anastasia Winni, whose dam is a half-sister to Group II Hollindale Cup winner and Group 1 QTC Derby runner-up Melora and Group II Carlyon Cup winner Piper Star.

Anastasia Winni has a weanling colt by Jukebox and was covered by Zousain last spring.

Aquis Farm's first season sire jukebox is enjoying a productive back end to the season.

The sire of Listed Oxlade stakes winner Johnny Rocker had an interesting winner in New Zealand on Wednesday when Alfriston captured the Winter Championship Qualifying Maiden (1300m) at Cambridge.

Jukebox stands at Aquis Farm in 2022 for a fee of $6,600.
