$2million Bonus for Trapeze Artist 2YO’s

Widden Stud are thrilled to announce an exciting $2million bonus for the progeny of our superbly credentialed young sire Trapeze Artist, who has more entries for the 2023 Golden Slipper than any other first season sire.

Trapeze Artist’s owner Bert Vieira is offering $2million spread over four years with $500,000 in each of the next four racing seasons to be paid out to the owners of the first Group I winning 2YO by the champion son of Snitzel.

There are five Group I races for juveniles run in Australia each season and the bonus will be offered in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026:

G1 ATC Golden Slipper (1200m)

G1MRC Blue Diamond (1200m)

G1 ATC Sire Produce (1400m)

G1 ATC Champagne Stakes (1600m)

Trapeze Artist has more than half of his first crop of rising two year-olds entered for the 2023 Golden Slipper with 67 youngsters nominated by a wide range of our leading trainers including Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou (8), Ciaron Maher and David Eustace (5), Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr (4)  as well as Hawkes Racing, Snowden Racing,  Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Chris Waller, John O’Shea, Danny O’Brien, Kris Lees, Tony Gollan, Mark Newnham, Annabel Neasham and various Freedmans.

Trapeze Artist had yearlings sell for up to $850,000 and had 38 yearlings sell for $200,000 or more so is long on quality with his top selling colt from Cocoa Doll now named Trapeze Warrior and entered by his trainer Phillip Stokes.

Trapeze Artist has covered exceptional books of mares in his first three seasons at stud and is priced this year at $55,000 with the foals born from these 2022 matings eligible for the final year of the $2million bonus incentive.
