Finalists Announced for 2022 Racing's Night of Champions

The New South Wales Racehorse Owners’ Association is pleased to announce the 2021/22 finalists for Racing’s Night of Champions.

The awards for horses in ten different categories will again be presented at a black-tie evening in the Royal Randwick Ballroom on Thursday, 25 August 2022

The shortlist of finalists, which were arrived at using a points system, will then be judged by a panel of industry participants, including a representative each from Racing NSW, TAB, the ATC and the racing media, as well as three NSWROA Board members. A tally of their votes will determine the winners, which will be announced on the night of the awards.

Loyal supporters TAB, Racing NSW, Sky Racing, the Australian Turf Club, Wild Oaks, Arrowfield and Inglis are joined by new sponsors Woppitt Bloodstock, Highclere Racing & Sire Custodians and Carrazzo Consulting. 

Racing NSW Awards also to be presented on the night include the BOBS Horse of the Year, the Sydney Strapper of the Year, the NSW Racing Writers’ Personality of the Year, the T J Smith Award, the George Moore Award, the Theo Green Award and the coveted Bart Cummings Medal.

“With Covid restrictions eased this year, we are really excited to bring the event back to its former glory,” said NSWROA President, Tony Mitevski. “We are also proud to be supporting the ATC Foundation charity with a live auction.”

A three course menu prepared by the ATC Executive Chefs George Mullen and Gerry Maher, and fine wines from De Bortoli will be served and there will be live entertainment from string trio, Stringspace.

The 2022 Racing’s Night of Champions Awards will be recorded and televised on Sky Thoroughbred Central on the Foxtel platform, and also internationally by their exclusive media partner Sky Racing, with highlights of the night also being shown across all Sky Racing channels.

Tickets to the event are available at $275 per person ($2,750 for a table of ten) are selling quickly.
