The final breeze ups ahead of Tuesday’s Inglis Ready2Race Sale were this morning completed at Warwick Farm, with the final 31 juveniles put through their paces in difficult conditions.
The fastest time on a wet morning was that of lot 238, a Flying Artie x Lucy’s Legacy colt (pictured) of KBL Thoroughbreds, who clocked 10.34secs, with a trio of juveniles from the WBF Thoroughbreds consignment of Will Forrester also starring.
A total of 223 horses have now breezed up at Seymour, Warwick Farm, Eagle Farm or Cambridge ahead of Tuesday’s action at Riverside.
Of those, 148 have clocked a time of 11 seconds or faster.
WBF Thoroughbreds had three of the five fastest times today, with a Capitalist x Sundarbans colt (10.43secs), a Justify x So You Merge colt (10.47secs) and a Per Incanto x Allawara filly (10.51secs) all breezing exceptionally well.
“I couldn’t have been happier with how all mine breezed today, they all did great work,’’ WBF’s Will Forrester said.
“The Capitalist colt, he’s a very professional, early 2YO type, his work at home has been very good and everything about him just screams early 2YO. He’s naturally talented so I was really happy with him today.
“The Justify colt is such an impressive animal, I bought him myself at Inglis Easter and while not looking through rose-coloured glasses, I think he’s one of the best horses I’ve touched the past few years. Physically he’s just an athlete, a phenomenal mover, strong, covers the ground so well, mentally he’s mature beyond his years, he’s a very serious racehorse.
“And the Per Incanto filly is just an absolute darling who I was probably most impressed by today.
“She does everything right, she’s so kind natured, she’s the sort of horse that would be a dream in any stable because she’s so straight forward and again a phenomenal mover.’’
Leandro Ribeiro rode the Flying Artie colt of KBL’s this morning and was pleased with what he felt underneath him.
“He’s a very natural horse, has done everything right, especially given it’s his first time to the track for a gallop like this,’’ Ribeiro said.
“He has a lot of ability and I have no doubt he’ll be an early horse, he has a lovely stride and is a horse who I think has a great future ahead of him.
“With all the rain, the track played a bit sticky, it’s not been the best so for him to run 10.34secs is quite amazing really. If it was a better track he would have been even sharper and would have run almost the fastest time of any of the horses who have breezed the past month because he has so much potential.’’
Young Hawkesbury trainer Fabio Martino, who has helped prep the horse who will be offered in Kandice Pritchard’s KBL draft on Tuesday, added: “He’s lovely natured, he’s been calm, he’s early, he’s matured well and is ready to go to the races.
“He handles every kind of track, I’ve galloped him on the grass on the heavy and he handled that as well as he did the dry.’’
Times for all horses to have breezed are now on the Inglis website, while vision of those who breezed this morning will be added in the next 36 hours to accompany the vision already online of those who have breezed prior to today.
Inspections for the sale begin at Riverside tomorrow and continue over the weekend ahead of the sale, which begins at 10am Tuesday.
