Third Stakes-Winner for Saxon Warrior

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 31

With his first Australian progeny 2YO’s this season, Saxon Warrior (Jpn) was making news overnight posting his third stakes-winner when Moon Ray took out the Group III Prix Miesque (1400m) at Chantilly.

Trained by Nicolas Clement, Moon Ray was tenacious to the line edging out runner-up Lady Mia to win by a nose taking her overall record to two wins and two placings from four starts.

“She was a 55,000 Arqana October yearling who was a bargain–you couldn't ask for any more. She will probably return in a Guineas trial and we'll find out whether we go for the Pouliches,” Clement said.

Moon Ray is a half-sister to stakes-winner Swedish Dream and Group III placed Monrovia and is the best of five winners from good producing stakes-winner Demeanour, by Giant’s Causeway.

Saxon Warrior stands at Coolmore at a fee of $19,250 this spring.
