Rosemont Stud’s Hanseatic served one of the biggest books in the country in his first year at stud and Rosemont are liking what they’re seeing of his foals, so here’s a look at a few.
A strongly built precocious two-year-old winner of the Merson Cooper Stakes (LR), Blue Diamond Preview (LR) and Blue Diamond Prelude (Gr3) before finishing second in the Group One Blue Diamond Stakes, Hanseatic was eagerly received when retired to Rosemont.
His book of 195 mares was the second biggest in the country for a first season stallion and third biggest in Victoria behind only his barn mate Shamus Award, and Written Tycoon so he’s not going to lack for opportunity.
The first season book included the dams of Group One winners Bella Vella, Alboran Sea, Krone and Hong Kong Champion Beauty Generation as well as Group One winners Headway and Tycoon Tara.
