Super Cash took a couple of big scalps first-up last time in and gets her chance to enhance an impressive fresh record in Saturday's Group II Schillaci Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield.
Super Cash defeated I Am A Star and Chauataqua when winning the Rubiton Stakes under set weights and penalties conditions first-up in February, which was the five-year-old's third win from four first-up runs.
Caulfield trainer Andrew Noblet said the Schillaci Stakes was the second choice for Super Cash's first-up run but the daughter of Written Tycoon missed on a run in the Group I Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley.
Noblet said he has had to tread water slightly with Super Cash but the five-year-old will be ready to go in the Schillaci Stakes.
"She's in good order but unfortunately she missed that run the other night and we have worked on getting her to peak again on Saturday," Noblet said.
"She was ready to go last Friday and missed the run so you've just got to maintain her and keep her where's she at for two weeks.
"We were just maintaining her fitness without going over the top with her."
The Schillaci Stakes was always going to be the race most impacted by the inaugural running of The Everest, worth $10 million, in Sydney on the same day but Noblet said Super Cash still faced good opposition on Saturday.
Group I winner Sheidel is in the field as is former horse of the year Lankan Rupee while Rock Magic, who finished fourth in the Moir Stakes, and Group I-placed performer Hellbent are still in the Schillaci Stakes line-up.
"The Everest has probably taken a few away from the Schillaci but it's still a strong race," Noblet said.
"The 1100m is what she started off at in the Rubiton and Saturday's race is probably the spring version of the Rubiton.
"It's the feature sprint of the Caulfield carnival so it would be great if she could perform around here on Saturday."
Katelyn Mallyon was aboard Super Cash in her Rubiton Stakes win and the pair will combine in the Schillaci Stakes in which the sprinter has firmed from $7.50 to $6.50 on Sportsbet's market on the race.
Sheidel is the $4 favourite while the Sydney sprinter Ball Of Muscle is likely to be a withdrawal from the Schillaci Stakes to run in a race at Randwick.
