First Season Sires Unraced Trial Report

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 21

The Golden Slipper has come and gone, but there are still three more Group I juvenile races to be run this season and a plethora of stakes races so lets have a look at what unraced youngsters are in the pipeline for the first season sires and at first glance The Autumn Sun, Trapeze Artist, Written By and Justify (USA) look to have ammo in the locker.

Click to see the full report.

Justify (USA) lost his star filly Learning to Fly for the rest of the season after her mishap in the Golden Slipper, but he’s another one with a growing list of horses stepping out at the trials and has two unraced colts accepted for the Kensington meeting on Wednesday.

The Autumn Sun

The Autumn Sun had an interesting trial horse last week with the Chris Waller trained colt Omelette finishing fourth at his first appearance. A homebred for Hermitage Thoroughbreds, he is from their dual Oaks winner Egg Tart, so we can expect to see his best next season, but this was a good start.
