A $500,000 Consolation for In Her Time

Mark Smith - Sunday October 15

Overlooked for a slot in the $10 million The Everest, connections of In Her Time were left to rue what might have been after the daughter of Time Thief landed Saturday's $5000,000 Listed Sydney Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

While banking the $287,000 winner's cheque, connections can also console themselves with the fact that In Her Time added some more valuable black-type, something Redzel did not achieve in his historic win.

In Her Time will be given her chance to claim a Group I in the Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate eve.

"The way she put on weight during the week I thought she might have been a bit big but she came out and got the job done today," Smith said.

"I wanted to leave a bit in the tank for Melbourne so for her to do that today is amazing.

"Corey has had two rides on her now and both of them have been 10 out of 10."

The 5yo daughter of Time Thief advances her record to 7 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third from 16 starts with earnings of $1,301,725.

Bred by the estate of the late David Cobcroft, In Her Time was consigned to the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling sale by Kanangra Stud, where she failed to make her $40,000 reserve.

She is the seventh foal of the Zeditave mare Hell It's Hot a half-sister to Group III winner Hot As Hell, Listed winner Flaming Hot, Hong Kong Stakes winner Craig's Dragon and the 5-time winner Harlem Heat the dam of Listed winner Harlem River.

Hell It's Hot has a 2yo colt filly by Dream Ahead (USA), and a yearling filly by Olympic Glory (IRE).

She had a filly foal by Artie Schiller (USA) on August 30 and was covered by Grandview Stud's Group I Stradbroke Handicap winner Under The Louvre this season.
