So You Think Filly Wins Guineas

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 13

A half-sister to $3.5million earner Dalasan, progressive So You Think filly Party Princess has been promising to win a stakes race for a while now and got the job done in style when scoring a commanding victory in the Listed SAJC Adelaide Guineas (1600m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Not far away when eighth at her previous run in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks at 2000m, the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained filly appreciated a drop back to 1600m to score a comprehensive three length win.

uo;We were rapt for her to come out and win that today as things went wrong a little bit during the prep and things didn’t go right the other day (Oaks), but she stamped her class over the Guineas field,” said Andrew Gluyas.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Mill Park draft for her trainers, Party Princess runs for a partnership that includes her breeders.

Party Princess was a $300,000 Magic Million yearling.

She is the second stakes-winner among four winners from stakes-placed Khandallah, who had a filly by Ghaiyyath (IRE) last spring before being covered by The Autumn Sun.

Party Princess has the overall record of three wins and three placings from nine starts with prizemoney in excess of $180,000.

She is the 52nd stakes-winner for So You Think and is his ninth in Australia this year.

So You Think stands at a fee of $99,000.
