Vinery Join Premium Stallions – Test Your Mares with a Hypothetical Mating

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 28

Vinery Stud is a new addition to Premium stallions with their full roster of six stallions all available for Hypothetical matings and linked right throughout the Breednet site into race results and sire tables.

Exciting times lie ahead for Vinery with Written Tycoon’s Champion 3YO Colt Ole Kirk set to have his first yearlings offered at Australasian sales in 2024, while Group I winner Exceedance will have his first runners next season.

Ole Kirk has an A grade pedigree to go with his imposing race wins in the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas and ATC Golden Rose with his first weanlings selling for up to $200,000 giving a small taste of what’s to come.

Ole Kirk is potentially a very important stallion for the Australian breeding industry being completely free of Danehill blood, but possessing an intriguing pedigree with three lines of Golden Slipper winning champion sire Vain, who like Ole Kirk was able to sustain his G1 speed to 1600m.

Perennial favourite All Too Hard is a tried and true Group I sire that consistently delivers results for his supporters and is never without a G1 horse. His current star performer Alligator Blood won three individual Group I races this season and only the mighty Anamoe was able to win more races at the elite level.

Star Turn is another proven Group I sire producing Tatts Tiara winner Startantes in his first crop and having covered strong books of mares in his last three seasons is poised to go onwards and upwards.

Vinery also offer a couple of outstanding value options for breeders in Headwater and Casino Prince, who have both sired multiple stakes-winners this season.

Casino Prince turns 20 this year and as a Group I producing sire standing at a fee of $5,500 is arguably the best value sire in the Hunter Valley, so if you are looking for real bang for buck, test your mare with a proven favourite you can afford.
