Standalone MM Online Sale for Outstanding Racemare Kissonallforcheeks

Media Release - Tuesday August 8

Outstanding racemare Kissonallforcheeks will be offered as an elite breeding prospect in a standalone Magic Millions Online Sale from August 15-17.

Kissonallforcheeks is for sale through Magic Millions online.

A winner of 10 races, five at stakes level and three in Group races around Australia, Kissonallforcheeks retired with prizemoney of over $1.7 million.

Not only did the daughter of champion sire Written Tycoon take all before her in her home state of Western Australia, but her star quality shone bright when she campaigned in Melbourne with multiple big race wins.

The exceptional performer was renowned for her electrifying sprint, often coming from near the tail of the field to delight her connections and fans.

Trainer Dan Morton has prepared some of the country's finest gallopers including Royal Ascot hero and Australian Horse of the Year Scenic Blast and he said Kissonallforcheeks wasn't far away from that level.

"She is the best filly or mare that I have put a bridle on," Morton said. "There's no doubt she was a Group One mare every day of the week."

"I loved what I saw when I bought her on the Gold Coast and every time she came in from the paddock each preparation she got better and stronger."

"She looked amazing and had furnished again and the best was still to come (when she came in for the last time). I was shattered when we had to pull up stumps."

"Throughout her career she performed at the highest levels and she was an exciting mare to train and watch. I was never concerned how far she was off them in the run - she could run elite sectionals."

Morton said Kissonallforcheeks was always a real star for his stable and he was excited about what she could achieve as a broodmare.

"I will be keen to see her offspring," he added. "She was a real pleasure to train and just so exciting."

Kissonallforcheeks, a Gold Coast Yearling Sale buy in 2019 for Morton Racing from the draft of Newhaven Park, showed ability right from the start of her career and she was a multiple metropolitan winner at two.

She trained on at three to win at stakes level on multiple occasions and graduated to become a Group winner at four.

During that season she won the Group Three RJ Peters Stakes before running third in both the Group One Railway Stakes and Group One Kingston Town Classic. She returned in the autumn for a brilliant win in the Group Three Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap at Flemington.

In the spring of 2022 with caretaker trainer Nick Ryan she ran an eye catching third in the Cockram Stakes before winning the Group Two Let's Elope Stakes at Flemington.

Kissonallforcheeks rounded out her first class career with a two start Summer Carnival campaign in Perth late last year. She was second in the Group One Winterbottom Stakes (to Paulele) and second in the $1.5 million Group Three Gold Rush (to The Astrologist) - on both occasions she was beaten in a photo finish.

As well as being a superstar on the track the just turned six-year-old has impressive breeding. She is a daughter of champion sire Written Tycoon and from the multiple stakes winner Rosie Rocket.

Rosie Rocket won nine times before retiring to stud - capturing a Starstruck Classic and La Trice Classic - and she ran a close length third in a Group One Railway Stakes.

The Magic Millions Online Sale for Kissonallforcheeks will open from 3pm (AEST) on Tuesday 15 August and close from 3pm (AEST) on Thursday 17 August.
