Trapeze Artist Rules the Roost

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 23

A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase for De Burgh Equine / William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA) / Glen Hill Farm from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft, Worth Avenue became the 11th winner this season for Trapeze Artist when saluting at Muswellbrook on Monday in the colours of US bloodstock investor Craig Bernick.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Worth Avenue was a hot favourite for the 1500m maiden with Reece Jones to ride and hit the line hard to win by half a length at her third run back from a spell.

by Stuart Ramsey, Worth Avenue is a half-sister to stakes-winner Ranch Hand and is the second winner from Mezulla, a smart metro winning Shamardal mare from the family of Kiwi Group I winner Just Call Me Sir.

Worth Avenue was a $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

Mezulla has a yearling colt by Trapeze Artist’s sire Snitzel and is due to foal to him again.

Worth Avenue adds to the flurry of success for Trapeze Artist in the past month that has seen the Widden Stud based sire take over as the leading second crop sire by earnings and winners.

His 11 winners have won over $2.6million headed by Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Griff and stakes-placed performers Facile and Introducing.

Trapeze Artist stands at a fee of $55,000.
