Raheen Winning Run and a Magic Draft

One of Queensland’s iconic farms, Raheen Stud bred or sold runners have been in hot form in recent months and Basil, Di and Natalie Nolan and their team will be busy at Magic Millions with a big draft of 23 to present including five by the stud’s proven winner producing sire Heroic Valour.

Last year Raheen sold the highest priced yearling at Magic Millions from the first crop of Brutal for $260,000 to Cape Schanck Stud and Jenni’s Meadow was an impressive debut winner at Moonee Valley last Saturday for the Hayes brothers training team.

The half-sister to Jenni’s Meadow is a lovely filly by Heroic Valour to be offered as Lot 1256 and while she might be in Book 2, she is also a half-sister to stakes-placed Flower in the Wind from well related Redoute’s Choice mare Meadow, so is sure to be well found by the good judges.

Jenni’s Meadow is one of a string of winners bred and or sold by Raheen this season that includes Group II VRC Danehill Stakes winner Stretan Angel, smart Hong Kong winner Gallant Valour and Listed BRC Just Now Stakes winner Chatty Lady, whose half-brother by Better Than Ready will be offered as Lot 1382.

The Raheen draft features the progeny of 14 different stallions including two youngsters by champion sire Zoustar.

Lot 677

Lot 677 is a good looking colt by Zoustar from terrific producer Fleet Riane, who has had four foals to race and all are multiple winners. Third dam Dove Vai was a great asset for Raheen Stud spawning a dynasty of stakes-winners including Group I winners Ofcourseican, Gimmethegreenlight and $1.7million earning stayer Persan.

Lot 772

Lot 772 is a very appealing Zoustar filly and is the first foal of Group III placed Written Tycoon mare I Remember You from the family of Group winning fillies Pane in the Glass and Xilong as well as Group II winning sire Gold Brose. Zoustar has had four winners from five runners from Written Tycoon mares.

Lot 313 Colt Tassort x Trick, by Street Cry (IRE)

By promising young sire, who has already left three winners headed by G3 ATC Gimcrack Stakes winner Manaal. Half-brother to stakes-placed Solid Impact and is from the family of Group I winner Unworldy and Group winners Gordo, Renaissance, Sessions and Whiskey Neat.

Lot 404 Filly Anders x Aeecee Tong De, by Pierro

From the first crop of lighting fast Group III winner Anders. Third foal of Group III placed Aeecee Tong De, a close relation of stakes-winner Lord Cosmos from an international family featuring multiple Group I winner Lailani. Pierro mares have made a flying start at stud producing five SW’s so far headed by G1 winner Jacquinot.

Lot 524 Colt Star Turn x Chickaletta, by Redoute’s Choice

Half-brother to a winner and the 2YO November Air (f Pierata) made $220,000 at this sale last year and is in work with Annabel Neasham. Dam is an unraced half-sister to Group II winner Oak Door from stakes-winner Beyonce’s Star.
