Traditionally held immediately following the Adelaide Cup, the sale has switched dates with the Gold Coast March Yearling Sale and will now be held a week later.

A highlight of the Adelaide Magic Millions will be 17 yearlings by Alabama Express.

This year's auction at the Morphettville Sales Complex will be conducted on March 18 and 19 and it's attracted a first class line up of 452 exciting racetrack prospects.

A feature of the Adelaide Yearling Sale each and every year is the spread of sires represented. This March the progeny of a quality line up of 105 individual sires make up the catalogue.

Every active Australian based sire in the Top 17 on the General Sires' Premiership is represented - I Am Invincible, So You Think, Zoustar, Snitzel, Pride of Dubai, Capitalist, Dundeel, Written Tycoon, Spirit of Boom, Exceed and Excel, All Too Hard, Rich Enuff and Street Boss. First season sensation Alabama Express has 17 lots catalogued - the equal most of any sire.

Strong interest is sure to surround the 22 first season sires with stock catalogued - among them Farnan, Ole Kirk and Wootton Bassett - a trio who were represented by a seven figure seller at the recent Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Other first season sires with strong numbers include Dirty Work, Hanseatic and Tagaloa.

"The Adelaide Yearling Sale has a proud history of producing elite racehorses," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.

"From Caulfield Cup and Victoria Derby winners to sizzling Group One sprinters and elite milers to superstar juveniles, our Morphettville based auction delivers every year."

"As well as being one of the most popular auctions for future trainers and owners, the sale has the most outstanding record of being a pin-hookers paradise."

"Our team has worked hard to assemble a catalogue that will impress buyers and will certainly extend the fine record that sale graduates possess," Bowditch added.

The big action in South Australia will commence on Saturday 9 March with the running of the Magic Millions Raceday at Murray Bridge featuring $320,000 worth of races for eligible graduates.
