Australian bred fillies Leaves of Grass and Raya Baya filled the quinella in the Listed Ardmore Jamaica Handicap at Kenilworth on Friday for the Candice Bass- Robinson stable.

Poet's VoiceA four year old mare by Poet's Voice (GB), Leaves of Grass beat her stablemate Raya Baya (3f Hussonet (USA) x Military Band) by a short neck in the 2000 metre staying test.

A $15,000 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale purchase for Paul Lafferty from the Gold Front Thoroughbreds draft, Leaves of Grass is the first winner for winning Al Maher mare Promotional, who comes from the family of stakes-winners Quidnunc and Comtesse La Gran.

With three wins and seven placings from 13 starts, she is the 12thstakes-winner for former Darley shuttler Poet's Voice, a son of champion sire Dubawi.

The same stable also won the 1600 metre maiden with three year-old Teofilo (IRE) colt Ballad of the Sea.

A $175,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Yarran Thoroughbreds draft for Heritage Bloodstock, he is a half-brother to Group III placed Anabaa's Legacy from Sea Song, a half-sister to Group I winner Ball Park.
