Winning Debut for $1million Hinchinbrook

Patience looks like being rewarded with expensive Hinchinbrook three year-old Smart Patch scoring a resounding debut victory at Matamata on Friday in New Zealand.

Smart Patch was a $1million yearlingA $1million Inglis Easter purchase for Wexford Stables from the Yarraman Park draft, Smart Patch is trained by Lance O'Sullivan and Andrew Scott and is the most expensive yearling by his sire ever sold.

Sent off favourite in the 1100 metre maiden, the now gelded Smart Patch settled fourth in the run and powered away down the running to win by a commanding five lengths.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman, Smart Patch is the first winner for stakes-placed Al's Magic Miss, a half-sister by Magic Albert to stakes-placed Carlton Forward from stakes-placed Carlton Ace.

Yarraman Park have entered the current yearling from Al's Magic Miss, a filly by I Am Invincible for the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

This filly is bred on the exact same cross as Yarraman Park's show-stopping $2million Magic Millions colt by I Am Invincible from Tai Tai Tess, who is also by their former Group I sire Magic Albert.
