Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 17

Breednet’s list of daily debutants offers a smorgasbord of interest on Wednesday with two year-old first starters from Group I winners Sunlight and Invincibella, plus a host of other interesting youngsters.

Juvenile maidens for colts and fillies at Randwick will be watch races with Chris Waller set to produce classy filly Mergeila, the Justify (USA) first foal of his former stable star Invincibella, a Group I winning daughter of I Am Invincible that won over $3million in prizemoney.

Mergeila was a $750,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

A $750,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Yulong from the Coolmore draft, Mergeila is well educated after five trials, but has drawn awkwardly with James McDonald to ride.

The colts division of the maiden features another high profile Justify with Dawn Service, the first foal of Champion 3YO Filly Sunlight, ready to step out for the Waterhouse Bott stable and has had four trials to prepare him.

Dawn Service - The first foal of Sunlight made $1.4million at Magic Millions.

He was a $1.4million Magic Millions purchase for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing/Kestrel Thoroughbreds from the Coolmore draft and has drawn ideally in gate two with Tim Clark to ride.

Also making his debut is Maori Chief, an I Am Invincible colt from brilliantly fast Group II winning Lonhro mare Heatherly that was retained by Go Bloodstock and is a half-brother to Group II winner Red Resistance. He won a trial last week and looks ready to go.

Regular Breednet readers will also want to keep an eye on Gawler today where Normie No Show is an acceptor. We did a story on this horse last week that is a four year-old half-brother by Exosphere to Think It Over, read more here.
