Sad Passing of Miss Vista

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 13

Flashy mare Miss Vista, the Breednet Favourite Foal of 2012, who gained a cult following because of her white markings, has had to be euthanised because of ongoing feet issues.

Miss Vista - Grant CourtneyThe five-year-old's distinctive white face, blue eyes and white legs made her a favourite with racegoers, but those striking features also proved her downfall with ongoing feet issues limiting her record to four wins from 10 starts.

Trainer George Osborne, who has stables at Kyneton in country Victoria, said on Twitter on Monday she would be missed.

"Condolences to owner Dick Karreman +all involved at both stables with this beautiful girl To @bennallen44 @dwaynedunn8 & Linda Meech winning on her & last but not least @janinesmillie07 who gave so much. Unfortunately foot issues meant we never saw her best #RIP" Osborne said.

"Always enjoyed her time scooting around @TheValley and getting plenty of photos and touching the attention of people."

Janine Smillie, her devoted handler, also paid tribute to the mare.

"RIP Miss Vista (Baldy) due to complications with her feet she was put to sleep this morning. Fly high my angel strapper"
