Home Affairs Colt With Pedigree to Excite

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 6

Twin Hills Stud have a terrific draft of 18 to offer at Inglis Classic by 15 different sires, but for the pedigree gurus out there it’s the colt by Home Affairs that will generate immediate attention not just because of his good looks, but also his pedigree which features something unique and special.

If you subscribe to the theory of line breeding to superior mares and many people do, this colt has a pedigree that will draw an instant crowd.

Lot 362 Colt Home Affairs x Lady Young, by Fastnet Rock

He is the third foal of stakes-placed Lady Young from the family of Champion 2YO Colt and Group I sire Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) and Group I New Zealand Derby winner Sherwood Forest, but the really exciting stuff lies in his tail female line.

The fourth dam of this colt is legendary matriarch Fanfreluche and she is also the fifth dam of his sire Home Affairs.

There are two more strains of this phenomenal mare in this pedigree as it also includes her champion sire descendants Flying Spur, sire of the dam of Home Affairs and Encosta de Lago, sire of the dam of Lady Young- so Fanfreluche appears in the pedigree 6 x 6 x 7 x 4.

“Lady Young is a lovely mare who was stakes-placed, and with Fanfreluche being her third dam, there’s plenty of pedigree there,” said Twin Hills’ owner Olly Tait.

“Like many of the Home Affairs, he’s a big horse like his father, but he’s a very good looking colt. He’s got size and scope, is very correct, moves along very well, and just has lots of quality for a big horse.”
