Premier Highlights Widden Stud

Widden Stud is the second biggest vendor at Inglis Premier behind only Yulong and their 45 strong selection features 28 yearlings by Widden based sires including flagship sire Zoustar, the world’s leading sire of winners in 2024, who has sired nine Australian stakes-winners this season.

Zoustar is set to play a role at Inglis Premier with 11 entries from nine different vendors and his promising sire son Zousain also has seven youngsters to be offered.

Lot 375 Colt Zoustar x Patricia Dawn, by Sebring

Full brother to stakes-placed Sunsource and also Dawn of an Era, a three time winner in Japan, from Group III placed Patricia Dawn, a daughter of imported US stakes-winner Summer Girlfriend (USA).

Fourth foal of stakes-winner So Far Sokool, a daughter of Group III winner Sokool.

Lot 199 Filly Shamus Award x Hear the Chant, by Nicconi

Half-sister to three winners including classy three year-old Ndola (3c Justify (USA), a last start second in the Group III VRC CS Hayes Stakes and set to run in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas on Saturday. From Group III winner Hear the Chant, who has had three to race all winners!

Lot 214 Filly Pinatubo (IIRE) x Inclement, by Frosted (USA)

From the first crop of Champion European 2YO Pinatubo and is the first foal of an unraced half-sister to Champion Australian Sprinter and five time Group I winner Santa Ana Lane, a winner of $8.2million in prizemoney.

Lot 326 Colt St Mark’s Basilica (Fr) x Miss Rose de Lago, by Encosta de  Lago

From the first crop of 2021 European Horse of the Year St Mark’s Basilica. He is a half-brother to a winner and is the fourth foal of outstanding multiple Group winner Miss Rose De Lago, whose wins include the G2 MVRC Sunline Stakes and MRC PB Lawrence Stakes. The current 2YO from the mare is stakes-placed Horseshoe Hill, a fine debut third in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic to O’Ole and Memo.
