Cyclone Alfred Changes To MM Gold Coast March Next Week

Media Release - Tuesday March 4

The selling schedule for next week's Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale has been changed due to adverse weather conditions forecast during the lead up to the auction.

Better Than Ready is the most represnted sire at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearlling Sale

Due to the expected arrival in the coming days of Cyclone Alfred to the South East Queensland region Magic Millions has delayed the start time of the auction on March 10.

Originally slated to commence on Monday at 11am (QLD time), the action will now commence the same day at 4pm with a smaller offering of 120 lots on Day One. It is expected selling will conclude by 7.30pm.

Day Two will commence at 10am (QLD time), an hour earlier than scheduled, with the remainder of the 380 lot catalogue.

"We have worked through logistics and have made the early decision to delay Day One to enable extra time for inspections," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.

"This will give our vendors more time to show their yearlings to prospective buyers once the forecast weather has passed."

"We will continue to monitor the weather and advise if there are any further changes," Bowditch added. "The welfare of our horses and participants are always at the forefront of our minds."
