SharkbiteOne of his three times Champion Australian Sire Redoute's Choice's 153 stakes winners, Sharkbite has sired 74 winners from 148 starters with progeny earnings in excess of $4.2 million.

Sharkbite's progeny have been in fine form of late with the likes of Jester Halo (a gallant last start third in the Gr.3 Matron Stakes at Flemington), Shark Mirage (successful at two of his last four starts), Galeocerdo (one of Tasmania's most prolific winners), Save Me Ned (five victories from ten starts including her last couple by wide margins) and Penthouse Pet (winner of three of her last four) proving good representatives of the breed as are last start winners Viaductress and Fabulous Flipper.

The winner of five races and over $290,000 in stakes, Sharkbite was a versatile galloper able to win over a variety of distances between 1000m and 1700m with his major success coming in the Listed Lord Stakes.

Winning his first two starts at two, Sharkbite was placed in three consecutive stakes races at three; a game second to Haradasun in the Listed Vain Stakes, a close-up Gr.3 Danehill Stakes third and a third to subsequent Caulfield Guineas winner Wonderful World in the Gr.3 Guineas Prelude.

A full brother to Arrowfield Stud's dual Gr.3 winning shuttler Scissor Kick, Sharkbite is out of the Quest For Fame mare Back Pass, half-sister to the triple Group winner Three Valleys.

His stakes placed grandam Skiable is a half-sister to one of the most successful broodmares of all time - the Listed winner Hasili, dam of Group One winners Intercontinental, Cacique, Heat Haze, Banks Hill (in turn dam of Group One winner Romantica) and Champs Elysees whose son Harlem won last week's Australian Cup.

Hasili is also dam of the triple Group winning outstanding stallion Dansili, sire of 126 stakes winners whose progeny to race in Australia include the big race winners Forteller and Grand Marshal.

This is also the family of Group One winners Promising Lead, Benbaun, So Factual and Leroidesanimaux, sire of Kentucky Derby/Dubai World Cup hero Animal Kingdom.

With sire line, family and type Sharkbite ticks a lot of boxes and is the ideal horse for smaller breeders.
