Al Maher Stakes-Winner in Perth

Three year-old Al Maher colt Money Maher posted his second stakes win of the season when taking out the Listed WATC JC Roberts Stakes at Ascot in Perth on Saturday.

Sent out favourite for the 1800 metre contest, he scored a three quarter length win for the Ben Pearce stable.

Al MaherA $58,000 purchase by his trainer out of the Bucklee Farm draft at the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Money Maher has the overall record of four wins and three placings from 14 starts with earnings in excess of $200,000.

Money Maher is the first foal of Treasury Notes, a daughter of Financial Rescue, who is a half-sister to the Group I AJC Oaks heroine and grand broodmare Savana City.

He is one of 34 stakes-winners for Aquis based Al Maher, who will turn 17 this year. A perennial source of winners, the blue-blooded son of Danehill covered 63 mares last spring in the Hunter Valley.
