Inglis Chairman’s Sale-Toppers – Where Are They Now?

A star studded renewal of the Inglis Chairman’s Sale will light up Riverside Stables this evening from 5pm with glamour girls Bella Nipotina and Amelia’s Jewel vying for top honours, so we’re taking a quick look back to check in on some of the stars from the past.

She's Extreme was the star of the show last year.

Nine mares sold for $1million or more last year with the star lots She’s Extreme ($3.4million) and Tutta La Vita ($3.2million) purchased by Tom Magnier and Resolute Racing respectively.

Both were sent to North America, dual Group I winner She’s Extreme to be covered by Justify and Tutta La Vita to race on in search of a stakes win to go with her Group I placings.

She’s Extreme is safely back at Coolmore Australia in foal to Justify and Tutta La Vita has had a couple of runs in the US without finding the winner’s circle and was last seen running second at Gulfstream on February 22.

Nimalee topped the sale in 2023.

Nine mares sold for $1million or more with the top lots being Nimalee ($3.6million) bought by Colm Santry Bloodstock / Coolmore and Montefilia ($3.4million) bought by Yulong.

Nimalee produced a colt by Snitzel last year at Coolmore and is now in foal to Wootton Bassett (GB), while Montefilia produced a colt by Alabama Express at Yulong and is now in foal to Panthalassa (Jpn)

Shout the Bar produced this year's Inglis Easter sale-topping colt by Home Affairs.

Five mares sold for $1million or more with Shout the Bar topping the sale at $2.7million when bought by Tom Magnier.

Shout the Bar produced a colt by Home Affairs in her first season at stud and he topped Inglis Easter this year for Coolmore when selling for $3million. She missed the next year and was then sent to Kentucky to visit Justify and is now back and safely in foal.

Celebrity Queen topped the sale in 2021.

Seven mares sold for $1million or more with Celebrity Queen ($2.5million) and In Her Time ($2.2million) the top sellers bought by Tom Magnier and Yulong.

The first foal of Celebrity Queen is Group I placed Wootton Bassett (GB) colt State Visit and her second is a colt by Pierro that sold for $1.1million at Inglis Easter. She produced a colt by Justify last year and is now in foal again to Wootton Bassett.

In Her Time was in foal to I Am Invincible when purchased at the sale and produced a colt from the mating Time Lapse, that was retained. She then produced colts by Written Tycoon that were both sold as yearlings to Tom Magnier, the first made $750,000 and the second was sold at Magic Millions this year for $1.8million.

She produced a filly last year by Diatonic (Jpn) and is now in foal to Pierata.

Samaready was carrying the Golden Slipper winner Shinzo at this sale.

Four mares sold for $1million or more with the top seller In Her Time ($2million), who was bought off the track by Newgate and then re-sold the following year in foal to I Am Invincible.

Next highest was Samaready ($1.8million), who was bought by Tom Magnier in foal to Snitzel with the resulting foal being Golden Slipper winner Shinzo, who stands at Coolmore a fee of $55,000 with his first foals expected this spring.

Samaready proved to be a troubled producer after having Shinzo and was exported to the Northern Hemisphere in 2022 and appears to have had a foal by Justify last year.
