Equate 2025 Unveils Visionary Keynote Speaker Lineup

Equate '25, Australasia’s leading innovation summit for the thoroughbred industry, today announces its full lineup of keynote speakers.

Building on the momentum and glowing feedback from Equate ’24 in Scone, this year’s event will be held at Flemington Racecourse on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with a field trip program scheduled for Wednesday, July 23. Equate '25 promises to deliver bold insights at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data analytics, animal welfare and equine performance.

Equate exists to foster collaboration, innovation and education across the thoroughbred sector. It attracts a wide cross-section of participants across all experience levels in breeding, racing and technology. The 2025 theme explores how AI and data-driven tools are poised to revolutionise performance optimisation, welfare standards, and cost efficiencies. The program offers stakeholders the clearest look yet at what the industry may look like five years from now.

Keynote Speakers Include:

• Neal French, Director at Google – on the evolution of AI and the next wave of transformational technology.

• Josh Kadlec-Cavanagh, Head of Data & Performance at Ciaron Maher Racing – on how advanced analytics are extending equine athletic performance and durability.

• Garnett Hall, Founder of VetChip – on the rise of real-time biometric tracking to improve equine welfare and performance monitoring.

• Michael Ristuccia, GM of Technology at Tabcorp – on what’s next in wagering innovation and how it will reshape the punter experience.

• Melissa Green, former Meta executive – on harnessing Facebook and Instagram for modern equine marketing and introducing Meta’s AI-powered wearables set to change horse inspections.

• Dr John Penry, Principal Scientist at Dairy Australia – on how targeted innovation funding has improved productivity, welfare, and staff retention in dairy, and what the thoroughbred sector can learn.
