First Winner for Palace Pier

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 31

Kingman’s Champion 3YO Miler Palace Pier(GB) was a one term shuttler to Australia for Darley in 2022 and that crop will race next season, but in the meantime he had his first Northern Hemisphere winner overnight at Haydock.

A homebred for Godolphin, two year-old colt Morris Dancer opened his account over 7f at his second race start.

Trained by John and Thady Gosden and ridden by Robert Havlin, Morris Dancer was sent off favourite and found the line well to win by a length and a quarter.

Morris Dancer is the second winner from Menuetto, a long distance (3000m) winning Dubawi mare from stakes-winning Sadler’s Wells mare Measured Tempo, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Galileo that has a grand-daughter at stud in Australia in Group II ATC Emancipation Stakes winner Promise of Success (GB).
