G2 Winner for Hello Youmzain

Tara Madgwick - Monday June 2

Due back at Cambridge Stud this spring Hello Youmzain (FR) had a great result in France overnight where his progressive three year-old filly Godspeed won the Group II Prix de Sandringham (1600m) at the French Derby meeting at Chantilly.

Trained by Carlos and Yann Lerner, Godspeed bounced out her first unplaced run when eighth in the Group I French 1000 Guineas to score a stylish length victory for Christophe Soumillon.

She won her debut at Chantilly in February and has now had five starts for two wins and two placings.

The Group I Prix de Diane is now a possibility for Godspeed.

“We had plenty of confidence, as we know she has a lot of talent,” Yann Lerner said.

“The [G1 French Oaks] Diane is an option, but first I need to talk with all the partners. She is a very easy filly and it's a question of whether she can use that turn of foot over 2,100.”

She was bought by her trainers for €80,000 at the Arqana Deauville December Yearling Sale and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Mary’s Grace and is now the best of five winners from stakes-winner Mary’s Precedent.
