Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

There were four heats at the Warwick Farm trials on Tuesday morning for juveniles and two were won by youngsters sired by Anders.

Widden Stud’s Anders has sired five first crop winners and might have a few more in the pipeline.

Jason Coyle thought enough of Lady Talea to send her around on debut in the Listed ATC Lonhro Plate and while that decision didn’t pay off, she does look to have come back well. This was her second trial back and she was super professional racing on the pace and cruising clear to win by a length and three-quarters, so is ready to go back to the races.

Lady Talea is a half-sister to a winner from a placed All Too Hard daughter of stakes-winner Happy Hippy.

The next heat was also a winner for Anders with the unraced Amanda Turned trained gelding Over the Limit scoring narrowly at his second trial.

Over the Limit is the first foal of placed Written Tycoon mare We Had Too Many, who comes from the family of Group I winner Zarita.

Zousain colt Zocketman made a good impression winning at his first trial outing for Richard and Will Freedman scoring by nearly a length. He travelled deep covering ground and was doing his best work at the line, encouraging!

Zocketman is a half-brother to three winners from Group III winning Sebring mare Thurlow.

Ciaron Maher probably doesn’t have many two year-olds in the stable by Smart Missile, but this one goes OK. Having her second trial, Skirmish finished off well to win by three-quarters of a length.

Skirmish is the first foal of So You Leica, a winning sister to stakes-winner and $1million earner Right You Are from Group III winner Leica Ding. Pedigree would suggest time and a more ground will be her friends.

Tassort 2YO Wins on Debut in NZ
