Breeders Paradise - Inglis Digital August (early) Online

Media Release - Friday August 8

An abundance of high-quality broodmares – many in foal to some of the hottest young stallions in the Southern Hemisphere – and broodmare prospects headline a “breeders’ paradise’’ in the Inglis Digital August (Early) Online Sale.

There are several young Stakes-winning or Stakes performed race mares ready for their maiden covers being offered in the catalogue.

G3 winner Cleo Cat is for sale - image Racing Photos

Cleo Cat is a G3 winner and seven-time victor overall from just 11 starts while Ausbred Flirt finished 2nd to Amelia’s Jewel at G2 level during the autumn.

G2 winners Caste and Seonee and G3 WA Oaks winner Own The Queen are sure to attract significant attention while the G3 winner and in-form 6YO Yellow Sam is another enticing entry.

Offered as a racing and breeding prospect, Yellow Sam has finished in the top three at 16 of her 19 career starts, including her most recent outing when 3rd to Bridal Waltz in the G3 Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield a fortnight ago.

Exceed And Excel mares Starbook and Margaux are two enticing broodmares.

Starbook is a three-quarter sister to G1 winner Amber Sky - being offered in foal to recently minted Champion First Season Sire Ole Kirk - while Margaux is the dam of Stakes winner La Danseuse Rouge and is offered in foal to 9-time G1-winning Champion Anamoe.

A share in Proisir will be offered for sale.

Another desirable entry is a share in champion stallion Proisir, New Zealand’s leading sire for 2024/25 by Stakes winners, winners and wins whose progeny already include G1 winners like Prowess, Legarto, Levante and Pier.

Proisir has enjoyed incredible success through the early stages of his career, with each of his G1 winners having been conceived for NZ$9,000+GST or less and will stand the 2025 breeding season at a fee of NZ$70,000+GST.

Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth described the August (Early) catalogue as “incredible’’.

“This really is a breeders’ paradise. I can’t remember the last Inglis Digital catalogue with so many nice young broodmare prospects in it,’’ Melmeth said.

“We’re on the cusp of the breeding season and many of these mares wouldn’t have been out of place at a Chairman’s Sale but the respective ownership groups chose to race them on for differing reasons and now buyers are being presented with a fantastic collection of young broodmare prospects and some hugely appealing pregnancies.’’

In total the August (Early) catalogue has 371 lots – 154 racehorses (90 race fillies), 95 broodmares, 92 racehorse shares, 19 yearlings, 6 2YOs, 3 unraced sock, 1 stallion share and 1 stallion breeding right.
