Booming Debut Winner

Tara Madgwick - Sunday October 19

Spirit of Boom is an outstanding sire of juveniles and is on the board with his firs 2YO winner of the new season with the Tony Gollan trained filly Boomelli bolting in on debut at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

Sent off a short priced favourite after a recent trial win, Boomelli lived up to the expectation of punters when powering clear to win the 1000m scamper by nearly four lengths.

A $160,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase from Robyn Wide for Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA)/Beamish Bloodstock, Boomelli was too good for Cosmopolitan Lady, a daughter of Spirit of Boom’s first season sire son Jonker.

Boomelli was a $160,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase.

Boomelli is the third winner from three foals to race from Foxarelli, a winning half-sister by Foxwedge to stakes-placed Aiguilette from stakes-placed Cicarelli.

Spirit of Boom has had a solid start to the season with 36 winners and a new Group I performer in promising three year-old filly Karinska, who was placed in the Group I ATC Flight Stakes at Randwick.

Spirit of Boom is priced this spring at $38,500 at Eureka Stud.
