Unbeaten Flying Artie Colt Wins Listed Sir Brian Crowley

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 25

Flying Artie colt Skyglider was an impressive maiden winner on debut at Canterbury back in July beating his stable mates Sixties and Estremo, who have both come out and won stakes races this spring and now this Chris Waller trained three year-old has followed suit.

First up from a spell with a couple of recent trials to tune him up, Skyglider was ridden by Kerrin McEvoy in the $200,000 Listed ATC Sir Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m).

He travelled sweetly behind the leaders on the fence and moved into the clear to challenge at the 300m mark and when Pallaton went with him Skyglider had too may guns for him and pulled clear to win by a length and a half in a dominant display.

A $100,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for Ezybonds No 1 Syndicate from Baramul Stud, Skyglider has two wins from two starts with prizemoney just shy of $200,000.

Stable representative Darren Beadman was not surprised Skyglider won and believes there is more to come.

Bred by Gerry Harvey, Skyglider is the first foal of a winning half-sister to stakes-winner Affable, the dam of stakes-winner Agreeable from the family of Group I winner Turffontein.

It is very much what you would term a running / winning family and Skyglider has quickly added to the tally.

Ex Lady has a yearling filly by Ole Kirk and has foaled this spring producing a filly by Vinery Stud’s young gun Hawaii Five Oh.

Flying Artie is amazing value at $11,000!

Skyglider is the 12th stakes-winner for Flying Artie, who has a very strong crop of three year-olds that will keep him well and truly on the radar and a rising star in Hong Kong in My Wish.

He is priced affordably this spring at Blue Gum Farm a fee of $11,000.
