2026 Inglis Classic Sire Break Up and Vendor Representation

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 16

The 2026 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale is now online with 798 yearlings which is pretty much on on a par with last year’s 805 and if you believe variety is the spice of life this catalogue is going to make you happy.

The most represented sire with 22 entries is Home Affairs, who is also the leading sire by numbers at MM 2026.

In 2025, there were nine stallions that had 20 or more entries and this year only two – Home Affairs and Farnan – hence variety being the spice of life at this sale.

There are three first season sires all on 18 entries and the G1 winning trio of Jacquinot (Widden), In the Congo (Newgate) and Hitotsu (Arrowfield) will offer plenty of food for thought for yearling buyers given their differing strengths.

Jacquinot, click for more info.

Jacquinot represents the Encosta de Lago sire line through Rubick, who comes from the female family of Redoute’s Choice and was a two time G1 winner at 1400m of the ATC Golden Rose and MRC CF Orr Stakes. His grand-dam is also by Redoute’s Choice adding some extra firepower to his pedigree.

In The Congo

In the Congo also won the G1 ATC Golden Rose and has had the benefit of a massive pedigree update as he is now a three-quarter brother by Snitzel to potentially the best racehorse in the country in Autumn Glow.

Hitotsu

Hitotsu is the horse to put his sire Maurice (Jpn) on the map in Australia with a treble of G1 wins at three - VRC Australian Guineas and Derby, plus the ATC Australian Derby and retired lightly raced. Also for good measure he is from a daughter of champion sire Redoute’s Choice.

One the score of vendors Widden Stud top the list with 51 yearlings in front of Arrowfield with 43 and they were also the top two vendors in 2025.

Yulong have increased their presence with a draft rising from 26 to 34 for 2026 and it featuring 10 yearlings by Treasurethe Moment's sire Alabama Express and four by Grunt, sire of this year;s Group I VRC Oaks winner Strictly Business..
