$1.4million I Am Invincible Filly Wins on Debut in Japan

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 27

Two year-old I Am Invincible filly Empress K made a winning debut at Kokura in Japan on the weekend and is the second foal and second winner from dual Group I winner Pippie.

$1.4million I Am Invincible filly from Pippie now a winner in Japan as Empress K.

Bred and sold by Cressfield, she was purchased at Inglis Easter for $1.4million by  Champions Farm / Satomi Oka Bloodstock and exported not long after to Japan.

Trained by Yuki Uehara and ridden by Yuji Tannai, Empress K beat a big field of 18 to win the 1200m newcomers maiden by a length and a half in a slick 1:08.4 seconds.

A lightning fast daughter of champion sire Written Tycoon, Pippie was bought by Tasman Bloodstock for Cressfield for $1.8million at the 2021 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

Tragically for Cressfield, Pippie died in 2024 and her last foal is a yearling colt by I Am Invincible that will be offered at Inglis Easter this year as Lot 20.
