2026 Inglis Premier Now Online

Media Release - Sunday December 7

The catalogue for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale – the source of the past three The Everest winners that were offered at public auction – is now available online.

Oaklands Junction in Melbourne will be the centre of the bloodstock world from March 1-3 with 806 lots catalogued for the three days of action.

The yearlings are being presented by 64 individual vendors including all the leading Victorian nurseries like Yulong, Gilgai, Rosemont Stud, Blue Gum Farm and Stonehouse Thoroughbreds, supplemented by a strong group of interstate vendors including the likes of Segenhoe, Coolmore, Newgate Farm, Vinery, Mill Park, Milburn Creek, Newhaven, Emirates Park, Twin Hills, The Chase etc.

Toronado (IRE) is the leading sire by numbers at 2026 Inglis Premier.

There are progeny of 110 individual stallions finalised for the sale including Extreme Choice, I Am Invincible, Zoustar, Snitzel, Written Tycoon, Too Darn Hot, Ole Kirk, Street Boss, Ghaiyyath, Harry Angel, Toronado, Wootton Bassett, Alabama Express, Capitalist, Dundeel, Exceed And Excel, Super Seth, The Autumn Sun, Justify, Bivouac, So You Think, Starspangledbanner, Proisir, Savabeel, Home Affairs, Stay Inside, Blue Point etc.

Leading international sires like Frankel, Kingman, Lope de Vega, Lord Kanaloa, No Nay Never and Siyouni are represented, as is an exciting crop of 11 first season sires in Anamoe, Artorius, Bruckner, Daumier, Diatonic, Hitotsu, In The Congo, Jacquinot, Paulele, Sejardan and State of Rest.

Jacquinot is the most represented first season sire.

A vast majority of the catalogued lots are either VOBIS Silver, BOBS, Racing Rewards SA, Westspeed or TAS Bred eligible or qualified.

The 2026 Premier Yearling Sale will follow the same successful format of recent years with 579 Book 1 yearlings offered on the opening two days and 227 Book 2 yearlings on Day 3.

Two of last season’s G1-winning 2YO colts in Vinrock and Nepotism are both graduates of the Premier Sale, while it has also provided the past three winners of the $20m G1 The Everest that have been offered at public auction in Bella Nipotina, Think About It and Nature Strip.

Since 2018 there have been 34 G1-winning graduates come through Premier, including 16 that could have been bought for $100,000 or less like Benedetta, Griff, Mariamia, Gytrash, Santa Ana Lane etc.

The sale is also responsible for 33 graduates to have earned $1m or more in Australia, as well as the winners of 314 individual Australian Stakes races in that time frame.

It’s not only in Australia that Premier has proven a happy hunting ground for buyers – the sale has provided the winners of 195 individual races in Hong Kong since 2018 through the likes of Victor The Winner, Beat The Clock, Invincible Sage, Senor Toba, Mugen, Champion’s Way, Full Of Beauty, Handsome Bo Bo etc.

Inglis’ Victorian Bloodstock Manager James Price was delighted with how the 2026 catalogue had come together.

“I feel the standard of yearlings catalogued for the sale for 2026 is higher than at any time I can remember and I know my colleagues feel the sale,’’ Price said.

“The quality of the pedigrees, in terms of both stallion power and female families, reads exceptionally well. Our expectation was that the strength of the sale in 2025 – noting it was the first Southern Hemisphere sale of 2025 to post improved metrics year on year – would help us to consolidate a stronger catalogue in 2026 and we are confident that is the case.

“Historically the Premier Sale has been a hugely significant producer of superstars with graduates including Black Caviar, Starspangledbanner, Nature Strip, Bella Nipotina, Ole Kirk, Sacred Kingdom, Written By, Booker, September Run, Masked Crusader etc and I’m confident the 2026 catalogue will produce any number of stars as well.

“It is always a fun time to be in one of the world’s great cities in Melbourne and we look forward to welcoming our guests for the sale.”

All yearlings offered at Premier are eligible for the lucrative Inglis Race Series.

Hard copies of the catalogue will be available within the next fortnight.
