A debut winner for Farnan has an interesting background, bred in Queensland and sold as a weanling before becoming a pinhook winner at the Adelaide Magic Millions and now being trained at Newcastle where he won today.
Trained by Nathan Doyle and ridden by Ash Morgan, Heroic Deed had two quiet trials last month but produced a different gear on race day.
He settled off the pace and was doing his best work to the line to win the 1150m maiden by half a length going away.
An $85,000 MM National Weanling Sale purchase for Randwick Bloodstock Agency Pty Ltd from the draft of Waylon J Stud, he was then re-offered in the Armidale Stud draft at the Adelaide Magic Millions where he was snapped up by Doyle Racing/Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA)/Stallion Match for $120,000.

Heroic Deed is the first winner for Courage ‘n’ Kindness, an unraced half-sister by Lonhro to Group II winner Scarlet Oak from the family of Group I winner Complacent with pedigree suggesting a slightly longer trip should suit.
Farnan has strong representation at upcoming sales starting at Magic Millions where he has 24 youngsters on offer.
