The Magic Bloodstock colours made famous by the great champion Winx were in action at Canterbury on Friday night carried to victory in the opening race by promising Wootton Bassett (GB) filly Wootton Way.

Trained by Chris Waller, Wootton Way has been a work in progress with stable representative Darren Beadman alluding to her quirky nature in his pre-race interview, but she is on the improve with racing and found her time to shine in the 1250m fillies maiden.
Fifth and sixth at her first two runs in similar races in mid November and early December, Wootton Way had race fitness on her side this time and Zac Lloyd in the saddle.
She was strong to the line late surging up the fence to score by a long neck.

A $290,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Coolmore draft for Magic Bloodstock, Wootton Way is the third winner from three foals to race from Rotterdam, a winning Pierro mare, whose dam is a full sister to champion sire Fastnet Rock.
Rotterdam was sold through Inglis Digital Online in May this year through Inglis Digital for $25,000 and produced a filly by Starspangledbanner for her new owners this spring.
Coolmore will present a draft of 45 youngsters at Magic Millions 2026 and they include four by Wootton Bassett, the Champion European Sire of 2025.
