Lyndhurst Stud Farm is home to one of Queensland’s favourite sons Better Than Ready and their Magic Millions draft of 12 features three by the reigning Champion Queensland Sire.

Better Than Ready finished last season with 144 winners of $11.5million in prizemoney with four stakes-winners highlighted by Group I winner Port Lockroy and he’s been back in the winning groove again this season.

With 78 winners since August 1, Better Than Ready is in the Top 10 Australian sires for winners and has two stakes-winners in Hidden Wealth and Epic Proportions as well as four more stakes performers, plus in form sprinter Gin and Tonic, winner of the MM 3YO & 4YO Classic at Caulfield last month.

Jeff Kruger and his team at Lyndhurst had the honour of breeding and selling Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Skirt the Law in 2022 at this sale and will offer a filly this year bred on the exact same cross being by Better than Ready from a daughter of champion sire Exceed and Excel.

Lot 104 Filly Better Than Ready x Big Time Girl, by Exceed and Excel

Second foal of a placed daughter of G3 winner Big Chill from the family of Aussie bred globetrotting triple G1 winning sprint star Asfoora.

Lot 636 Colt Better Than Ready x Olympia Rose, by Dundeel

First foal of unraced blueblood Arrowfield bred mare, whose dam is a sibling to Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Alverta, G3 winner Aerobatics and SW  Revolte.

Lot 741 Colt Better than Ready x Rockette Rocket, by Captain Sonador

Three-quarter brother-in-blood to G1 BRC Kingsford Smith Cup winner Apache Chase, a winner of over $2million in prizemoney and is third foal of a nine-time winner that is also a half-sister to G2 winner Churchill Downs, also a Golden Slipper place-getter.

First two foals from the mare are also by Better Than Ready and both have shown good ability with Kickup High a smart metro winner and Kickup Rocky just behind the place-getters in his first two starts in stakes races won by Zip Lock and Itchintogo.

Lot 775 Filly Nicconi x Scorched, by Exceed and Excel

Full sister to multiple Group placed stakes-winner Scorched Earth from terrific producer Scorched, who has had four foals to raced and all have won.

Her sire Nicconi is best known for producing champion sprinter Nature Strip and his daughters are proving influential having produced dual G1 winner Magic Time and six other SW’s ensuring this filly has residual value for the future.

Lot Colt 989 Barbaric x Altamira, by Lope de Vega

From the second crop of fast Group winning I Am Invincible sprinter Barbaric. Half-brother to three winners from a placed half-sister to stakes-placed Liberty Rock and to the dam of G3 winner She’s Bulletproof, who was also second in G1 MRC Oakleigh Plate.

Lot 1218 Colt Barbaric x Witchlike x Magic Albert

Half-brother to two winners and is from a winning half-sister to G3 winner Invincible Star, who was second in G1 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes and is by Barbaric’s sire I Am Invincible.
