Brutal Winner Brings Inglis Classic Pedigree Update

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 26

The Ron Quinton trained Brutal gelding Bryant has chased home some smart horses in his first three starts won by The Playwright, Miss Freelove and Raging Force, so at Warwick Farm on Australia Day he always looked well placed.

Sent off a hot favourite in the 1100m maiden at his first run back from a spell, Bryant was given a good ride by Josh Parr and duly broke the ice to win by three-quarters of a length in the Australia Day colours.

“He’s a nice horse and he was strong late,” said Parr.

“He’s been a very casual horse, from the time I first stat on him until now, nothing has fazed him and that’s a great attribute and he’s in a stable that’s flying at the moment, so onwards and upwards.”

A homebred for the Gall family, Bryant is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Divided House, a winning I Am Invincible mare from the family of Group II winner Havana Rey.

Bryant has obviously been held in good regard as Divided House wascovered again by Brutal last spring.

Yarraman Park will offer the yearling half-brother by Justify (USA) to Bryant at Inglis Classic as Lot 762.
